A New California Insurance Brokerage Firm Hires Abe Gottesman as Senior Vice President for Orange County Office

San Mateo, California – November 2, 2007 – Edgewood Partners Insurance Center (EPIC) announces the hiring of Abe Gottesman as Senior Vice President.  Based in Orange County, Gottesman will produce and manage mid-market to large national and global accounts in multiple industries, with a focus on construction, real estate, financial institutions and retail.

Prior to joining EPIC, Gottesman was Chief Operating Officer at S.E.E. Touring Productions, Inc., responsible for operations, sales, marketing, and vendor relationships and has an eclectic background of leadership experience.

From 2006 to 2007 he was Vice President at UnionBanc Insurance Services, where he acquired and maintained large corporate accounts that resulted in revenues exceeding 1MM per customer. From 2002 to 2006, Gottesman served as originator-regional sales manager at Aon Risk Services, where he had direct involvement in placing and servicing many types of products and programs including managing and placing a workers' compensation captive, general liability wraps, O.C.I.P.’s, C.C.I.P.’s, and all lines of coverage, surety, and benefits.

In 2000, Gottesman founded the consulting firm Gottesman Group, where he served as a  management consultant to develop and implement marketing campaigns for a variety of start up companies.

In the early 90’s Gottesman worked at Bio-Flex International as Senior Vice President of sales and marketing. In the late 90’s, Gottesman worked at Sportspage.com as Chief Operating Officer, where he was responsible for operations, sales, marketing, and vendor relationships. He developed successful marketing programming with Yahoo to co-produce and market the NFL draft live audio program.

Edgewood Partners Insurance Center is a new California retail property and casualty and benefits insurance brokerage firm formed by John G. Hahn and Dan R. Francis, along with Trident IV, L.P., a private equity fund managed by Stone Point Capital. EPIC recently acquired Calco Insurance Brokers and Agents, Inc. (“Calco”). This acquisition will serve as the initial strategic platform to launch a statewide insurance brokerage firm in three key areas of California, with offices in Orange County, Sacramento, San Mateo, and San Ramon.
