A New California Insurance Brokerage Firm Appoints Lance Dalzell-Piper to Executive Team
San Mateo, California – August 27, 2007 – Edgewood Partners Insurance Center announces the appointment of Lance Dalzell-Piper as Financial Services Practice Leader for D&O and related liability coverages. Dalzell-Piper will work from E.P.I.C’s corporate headquarters in San Mateo.
Dalzell-Piper has specialized in Directors & Officers Liability for more than 20 years and recently worked for Marsh & McLennan in San Francisco as a Senior Client Advisor in Marsh’s FINPRO Practice.
Dalzell-Piper joined Marsh in 1985 after graduating from London University and a commission in the British Army. He went on to become a D&O underwriter for three major syndicates in the Lloyds market. Between 1986 and 2003 he managed a predominantly North American book of business, specializing in the technology, large commercial and financial institution sectors.
Throughout his career Dalzell-Piper has developed a reputation for providing excellent service with special attention to the diversity of client operations and will continue to focus on service with E.P.I.C.
Edgewood Partners Insurance Center is a new California retail property and casualty and benefits insurance brokerage firm formed by John G. Hahn and Dan R. Francis, along with Trident IV, L.P., a private equity fund managed by Stone Point Capital. E.P.I.C. recently acquired Calco Insurance Brokers and Agents, Inc. (“Calco”). This acquisition will serve as the initial strategic platform to launch a statewide insurance brokerage firm in three key areas of California, with offices in Orange County, Sacramento, San Mateo, and San Ramon.
